ANZEA online workshop: A Deep Dive Session using Dedoose
August 25, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Join us for this follow up session to Jeph Mathias’s introduction to Outcome Harvesting (OH) and using Dedoose. The session will focus on using Dedoose, a powerful cloud-based qualitative and mixed-method analysis software, to manage coding and enhance sense-making. You do not need to have participated in the earlier session to participate in this one.
The session will build on the key principles participants learned about coding an outcome harvest, using participants’ lockdown stories. The session will be run as a collaborative analysis session, giving attendees more time to apply the OH coding framework. Participants will then explore the powerful analysis options to really dig into your data to uncover key insights and trends that can often missed when we are managing large volumes of information and complex projects.
Who should attend?
Those who attended Jeph’s first workshop who are keen to experience a deeper dive using OH and Dedoose.
Anyone who is responsible for analysing data using similar tools such as NVivo who is keen to see how OH could enhance your analysis or is keen to learn more about other tools that can support your work.
Didn’t attend the first session? Don’t worry! Jeph will facilitate a separate breakout room for those who missed the first online workshop so you are familiar with key OH concepts and principles.
For participants who attended the earlier session Jeph will send you a short coding assignment which you can do under your free trial period. Your free trial will expire before the session but don’t worry- you can still log-in (you just receive a nag message) and we’ll ensure at least one individual in each break-out group has a paid account so teamwork will not be interrupted.
Jeph will contact participants who did not attend the first session and explain how to register for a free trial period on Dedoose and write a half page story about lockdown so you can fully participate in the evaluation.
There will be a small amount of pre-coding to do before the session, so we will need to close registrations by Thursday 20th August to give everyone time to complete this.
